Enjoy spooky fun all month long like the Emma Crawford Coffin Race & Parade.
With the Halloween season upon us, there is much to do in Colorado Springs for adults and kids alike. Halloween events around Colorado Springs include haunted mines, coffin races and trick-or-treating at the zoo. 'Tis the season to be spooky and enjoy family fun!
The Haunted Mines at the Western Museum of Mining will have your family crawling and climbing as well as running from the ghosts of former miners as you descend into its depths. Open evenings after 7 p.m. in September and October, the museum staff is looking forward to terrifying you! Tickets can be purchased online in advance. Additionally, the Ghouflest Halloween Poker Run is scheduled for October 24 and goes through the Haunted Mines, ending at the Tilted Kilt for refreshments and drinks.
Another event to enjoy on October 24 is the Emma Crawford Coffin Race, held at historic Manitou Springs at the base of Pikes Peak. At this annual event, which is filled with fun and revelry, watch teams of five push coffins to the finish line. With a spooky story of the real Emma Crawford, who died in 1890, the tradition continues!
Bringing the kids to Colorado Springs in October? You won't want to miss the Boo at the Zoo at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo where the kids can safely enjoy trick-or-treating and a host of Halloween activities. It's happening during several days in October from 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
