Get a Taste of the Old West at the 2013 Territory days in Old Colorado City!

Originally a small settlement of El Dorado, Colorado City was the first permanent town in the Pikes Peak region.  With farmers, ranchers, freighter and outfitters for those rushing to the western minefield, by 1886 the Colorado Midland Railroad was the city's largest employer.

In 1887, bottles for Manitou Mineral Water, liquor and wine were made by Bohemian glass blowers.  Then when gold was discovered in 1891 at Cripple Creek, prosperity came from the gold ore reduction mills operating in Colorado City.  The city soon became more famous for its many Saloons and Brothels and the hardworking residents were proud of their schools, the Carnegie Public Library and the churches.

Today, Historic Old Colorado City has it all with over 100 Fine Galleries, Specialty shops, boutiques, museums, restaurants and so much more.  On Memorial Day Weekend, you can join the fun at Territory Days in Old Colorado City.  Admission is FREE and there is plenty for the entire family to enjoy!

This year, the 2013 Colorado College Commencement speaker will be Marian Wright Edelman, founder and president of the Children's Defense Fund (CDF).  Marian Wright Edelman is the recipient of a Colorado College honorary degree and was the first African-American woman to be admitted to the Mississippi Bar.
